Clarke County to name new superintendent by April
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — The Clarke County Board of Education will name a new county school superintendent on April 4 under a timeline adopted by the board.
Current Superintendent Philip Lanoue has resigned, effective at the end of March, although he is expected to depart sooner than that. Retired University of Georgia administrator Jack Parish will be the interim superintendent after Lanoue leaves.
The Athens Banner-Herald (http://bit.ly/2gTpflL ) reports the public will get a chance to meet the finalist or finalists for the position one day before, on April 3.
The job will be advertised as paying about $200,000 to $225,000, board members decided at a Thursday meeting.
