Clayton County police shoot at man with gun
According to authorities, the incident unfolded around 11:30 on Wednesday night when officers initiated a routine traffic stop at the intersection of Upper Riverdale Road and Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro. During a foot chase, officers fired at the driver who they say had a gun.
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - The U.S. Marshal Service is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who Clayton County police say officers fired on after he pulled a gun on them during a foot chase resulting from a traffic stop earlier this week.
Clayton County police have identified the man as Garon Turner. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
The incident unfolded around 11:30 p.m.on Wednesday when officers tried to pull over Turner at the intersection of Upper Riverdale Road and Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro, according to authorities.
Following the stop, officers requested the driver to exit the vehicle. However, the situation escalated rapidly when the driver took off running, prompting officers to chase after him.
Investigators report that during the pursuit, the driver pulled a gun from his waistband, leading officers to open fire in response. Despite their efforts, the driver managed to escape.
A gun was recovered at the scene.
No officers were injured in the incident.

Turner has multiple tattoos, including a breast cancer symbol and a teardrop on the right side of his face. Above his eye, on the right side, is a bird tattoo with lips. Turner has a tattoo depicting the word "brother" on his right hand and "keeper" on his left hand.
He is wanted on charges of aggravated assault.
Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 immediately and to not confront him directly.
