Clayton County police investigate motel shooting

CLAYTON COUNTY, ga. - Clayton County police are looking for two women following a motel shooting that left a man in critical condition.

The shooting happened Wednesday morning at the Motel 6 on Southside Commercial Parkway, just off Tara Boulevard. Police said the 59-year-old man is from Chicago and has no local address.

Investigators do have one clue in the case: surveillance pictures show two women going into the man’s room two hours before he was found injured.

Police said the two women are persons of interest and could likely help them figure out what happened.

Many hotel guests were surprised to learn of the violence.

“That’s crazy. I just moved in here a couple of days ago. I didn’t hear anything about it,” a man named Grip told FOX 5’s Aungelique Proctor.
