Clayton County teachers could be facing furloughs on snow days next year.

That means no pay for teachers if snow or storms close schools.

The change is part of the superintendent's new budget proposal for 2019.

The superintendent said countywide furloughs could save the district millions and avoid job cuts.

But the Georgia Association of Educators said the superintendent should rethink the furlough proposal.

The superintendent is also proposing salary freezes for teachers.
