A 16-year-old charged in the murder of a Clayton County high school student appeared in court Thursday morning.

Stanley Dixon turned himself into authorities Wednesday night after police publicly identified him as the suspect Wednesday afternoon, in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Cedric Clark

Dixon's father walked him into authorities just hours after an announcement was made about Dixon making Clayton County's most wanted list. It was the first time a juvenile had been on the list.

On November 3, Clark’s body was found behind a home on Eagles Feather Lane in Riverdale. An investigation revealed that Dixon allegedly shot Clark at least one time the evening before his body was found.

Investigators are working to determine what led to the confrontation between the two teens.

Dixon's next court appearance is scheduled for December 8.
