Clayton police make arrest in weekend murder
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Police said they have made an arrest in the weekend murder of a man at a hotel in Stockbridge.
Clayton County Police Cary Raymond Duke, Jr., 27, was captured Thursday, a day after warrants were issued for his arrest. Duke is suspected of shooting and killing Joshua Norred, 36, Saturday morning at the StayInn Suites on Davidson Parkway in Stockbridge.
According to investigators, the shooting may have stemmed from a previous disagreement between Duke and Norred.
Detectives said Duke is on the run and believe he may be headed to the Panama City, Florida area where he has family.
Police ask anyone who sees Duke to immediately call 911.
They said two persons of interest announced in the case earlier this week were not involved in the murder.
