Couple busted with crack cocaine 'cookies' in Monroe County
MONROE COUNTY, Ga. - A search warrant executed Monday morning at the Forsyth Gardens Apartments led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of significant quantities of illegal narcotics.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office investigators conducted the search around 8:51 a.m. after receiving information implicating Tramaine Haynes in the sale of illegal drugs from the apartment. Inside, authorities discovered two "cookies" of crack cocaine weighing approximately 41.1 grams, smaller pieces of crack cocaine totaling 18 grams, a baggie of powder cocaine weighing 9.3 grams, over 140 grams of marijuana, and various drug-related paraphernalia.
Tramaine Haynes and Taquilla Williams were arrested at the scene. Both face multiple charges, including trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana, distribution of controlled substances near public housing, and possession of drug-related objects. Additionally, Williams has been charged with violating a family violence order.
The two suspects are being held at the Monroe County Jail without bond. Authorities noted that Haynes had been granted bond in November for similar charges.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out further charges or arrests.
