Coweta County man arrested for child porn
Investigators in Coweta County say the discovery of disturbing videos involving children have led to the arrest of a man there.
COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - A 34-year-old Coweta County man has been arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of children after investigators uncovered what they described as "very disturbing" videos involving children.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit initiated the investigation after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. According to investigators, the tip suggested possible possession of child sexual abuse material, commonly referred to as child pornography.
Deputies say they reviewed Jesse Crutchfield’s online activity and subsequently obtained arrest warrants. When officers arrived at Crutchfield’s residence, he reportedly exited the house and placed his hands behind his back, appearing unsurprised by their presence.
Crutchfield, who works at a local Coweta County restaurant, is now facing four counts of sexual exploitation of children. The sheriff's office confirmed that he is being held without bond at the Coweta County Jail. Authorities have also seized all of his electronic devices, which are being reviewed for additional evidence. Depending on the findings, Crutchfield could face further charges.
This arrest comes as part of the ongoing efforts by the Coweta County ICAC Unit, which regularly collaborates with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to investigate online crimes involving children.
In a similar recent case, investigators arrested 51-year-old Craig Allan Jacobson, a Coweta County grandfather, on charges of sexual exploitation of children following a tip from the GBI.
