Coweta County paraprofessional fired after complaint

The Coweta County School System is investigating an incident involving a pre-kindergarten child and a paraprofessional employee.

Welch Elementary School sent a letter home to parents after a parent filed a complaint against employee Tiffany Bonilla.

The parent said Bonilla placed the student in a restroom with the lights off and closed the door in an attempt to discipline the child.

The parent said the incident occurred twice

 

 

“The treatment of any student in this manner is unacceptable,” said Dean Jackson with Coweta County Schools. “The paraprofessional is no longer employed by the school system.”

The school system notified the Department of Family and Children Services, and law enforcement is also involved.
