Two drivers killed in head-on crash on Ga. 400, police say
ROSWELL, Ga. - Two people died after a head-on crash on Ga. 400 on Sunday morning in Roswell Police said.
Sandy Spring Police received several calls around 5:30 a.m. about a wrong-way driver traveling north in the southbound lanes. Roswell Police found an accident involving a head-on collision just south of the Chattahoochee River.
Roswell firefighters attempted to save one of the driver's life. Medical personnel pronounced both drivers dead at the scene, police said.
Crews finished clearing that closed all southbound lanes for several hours past Holcomb Bridge Road, the Georgia Department of Transportation said.
The incident was reported to the Georgia Department of Transportation on Sunday morning. Lanes were back open before 10 a.m.
The identities of the victims will be released after the next of kin has been notified.
