Crews prep Mercedes-Benz Stadium ahead of Super Bowl LIII

Officials with the NFL and the stadium gave a sneak peek Tuesday of the work being done at Mercedes-Benz Stadium ahead of Super Bowl LIII.

"It's going to be a great experience for anyone that's going to be in this building," said NFL Senior Director of Events Eric Finkelstein.

Crews began work more than a month ago.

"What's different about the Super Bowl from a regular game... six-week ramp up to the big game," explained Scott Jenkins, general manager of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Workers have already painted the sidelines and end zones with the Patriots and Rams logos and the NFL seal is front and center on the 50-yard line.

Though they will have to touch up all the paint again before the game.

"Friday the rehearsals start and of course, all that traffic on and off it does a little bit of damage to the paint itself," said NFL Field Director Ed Mangan. "So everything has a fresh coat of paint."

Officials would not say whether the stadium's roof will be open for the Super Bowl.

"We would love to show it off and we hope the weather cooperates," said Jenkins.
