She was one of the calm, collected voices on the other end of the line when people call for help in Dawson County. But now, Sara Reeves is no longer a 911 dispatch operator after she and her husband were arrested on various drug charges.

Dawson County Sheriff Billy Carlisle said Sara Reeves had worked at the 911 dispatch center at the Dawson County Sheriff's Office since September of last year, after leaving a job as a 911 operator in Hall County.

The Sheriff said her downfall started with an undercover sting operation last Friday morning at the parking lot of a new apartment complex in Dawsonville, with the arrest of her husband, Phillip Reeves.

"Mr. Reeves showed up at the location to make a sale, and he was subsequently arrested for making a sale to one of our undercover agents, and that led to a search warrant of his residence and Sara's residence," said Sheriff Carlisle.

He said deputies served a search warrant at the Reeves home on Highway 53 West, outside of Dawsonville.

"They found marijuana plants growing at the residence and drug paraphernalia inside the residence. We're talking two plants growing there at the house, and then other things that they used to grow marijuana with, and they also found a glass pipe with believed to be meth residue," said Sheriff Carlisle.

Phillip Reeves was charged with possession of a controlled substance, manufacture of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and obstruction of an officer. Sara Reeves was charged with possession of a controlled substance and manufacture of marijuana.

Sheriff Carlisle said she's been fired from her highly-skilled job as a 911 dispatch operator.

"This one incident does not reflect all of my employees here at the Sheriff's Office as a whole, because my employees are here to work, and they want to do a good job for Dawson County, and I hate that this has happened in my department," said Sheriff Carlisle.

He also said if Sara Reeves is convicted on these charges, she will not be eligible to serve ever as a 911 operator. Both she and her husband have bonded out of jail.
