Man arrested in domestic double shooting

Investigators have arrested 43-year-old Terrance Alonzo Washington and charged him in connection to a domestic-related double shooting on Dayspring Trace Tuesday night.

Police have arrested a 43-year-old man for shooting a mother and son in the driveway of their Gwinnett County home late Tuesday night.

Terrance Alonzo Washington was arrested in Warner Robbins hours after the shooting at the home along Dayspring Trace near Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Police Sgt. Michele Pihera says the 44-year-old mother and 20-year-old son were rushed to an area hospital in critical condition, where they remained Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators say Washington had a previous relationship with the 44-year-old woman.

Officers responded to the area at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday after neighbors reported hearing gunshots. Police say the officers staged down the roadway from the home since it was believed the shots were fired during a domestic dispute.

"As they were exiting the vehicle and approaching the home, they heard some kind of commotion in the driveway," Pihera said.

Man, woman shot in heads in Gwinnett County

Police are searching for a gunman who shot two people and left them with life-threatening injuries in the driveway of a Gwinnett County home.

Seconds later, shots rang out.

"After the gunshots, they saw someone flee the scene in a vehicle. That’s when the officers immediately ran to the driveway of the home, where the commotion took place, and they saw two victims with gunshot wounds to the head," Sgt. Pihera said.

Officers found a man and a woman who had both been shot in the head and quickly began to render aid. Medics rushed the two victims to a local hospital.

Washington was seen leaving the home.

"A man was seen leaving the area in a vehicle, but police are still trying to identify him and any possible relationship to get victims," Sgt. Pihera said.

Both victims lived in the home. Their names have not been released.

Washington was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and theft by taking.
