Deadly shooting after accident on Riverdale Road

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A 21-year-old woman was arrested following a deadly shooting at an accident scene in Clayton County Tuesday evening.

The crash happened between a Jeep and a pickup truck on Riverdale Road near the Interstate 285 exit around 6:15 p.m.

Clayton County Police said officers were directing traffic when they were told by a passerby that a man had been shot down Riverdale Road at Forest Parkway.

Officers said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators said the man had been in an argument with 21-year-old Hanna Payne over the accident. Police said Payne ended up shooting the man.

Payne was taken into custody. Charges were pending as of late Tuesday evening.
