Deputies: 2 hospitalized in deck collapse in Rockdale County

CONYERS, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Two people were hospitalized after Rockdale County deputies said a deck collapsed Saturday evening.

The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office and emergency responders were called out to a home along Lake Sorrento Drive near Conyers around 5 p.m.

Deputies said the deck collapsed while seven people were standing on it at the time.

One person was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital. Another was taken to an area hospital.

Deputies believe the age of the deck was a factor in the collapse.

The incident is still under investigation.
