Deputies: 3 suspects in custody for Brookhaven shooting
BROOKHAVEN, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Deputies with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said all three suspects in a shooting in Brookhaven which ended with the victims fleeing to a nearby Waffle House have been taken into custody.
Police were first alerted to the Friday, Nov. 30 shooting after two men were found shot in the parking lot of the Waffle House along Clairmont Road near Interstate 85 in Brookhaven.
Stephen D. McAllister, 24, of College Park, and Quintez M. Griffin, 31, of Atlanta, were arrested Tuesday. Both were charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
A third suspect in the shooting, 34-year-old Pierre Gregory Singletary of Brookhaven, had been in custody since Dec. 6. He was charged with aggravated assault and homicide.
Investigators said the actual shooting happened at the Mille at Brookhaven apartments located along Barone Ave. off Clairmont Road, just a few blocks north of the restaurant. According to warrants, Carthel Lamont Johnson, Jr. and Roderick Levelle Francois were shot but were able to flee to the Waffle House. Johnson died at the scene.
McAllister was arrested in College Park and Griffin was taken into custody in Atlanta, according to the sheriff’s office. Both were booked into the DeKalb County Jail.
