Deputies arrest suspect in fatal stabbing of a Barrow County woman
BARROW COUNTY, Ga. - Deputies in Barrow County have found and arrested the man who investigators said stabbed a woman to death and then lied about.
It happened Thursday at a home in the 1300 block of Highway 124. The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a woman possibly fell on a knife. They found 42-year-old Kellie Roop, of Buford, with a stab wound in her neck. She was rushed to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she later died.
Investigators said they later determined Roop was attacked by Ethan Andrew Ramey, 29, of Loganville. Warrants for felony murder and aggravated assault have been filed for him.
Deputies say a tipster told them Ramey was in the 4600 block of Braselton Highway on Saturday morning. Barrow County Sheriff Deputies along with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office took Ramey into custody without incident.
