Deputies: Human remains found in Lamar County

LAMAR COUNTY, Ga. - Investigators in Lamar County said they found human remains Tuesday.

Deputies with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation at the scene off MLK Parkway near Gordon Road near Barnesville.

Deputies said the discovery was made by a passerby off the roads in a wooded area.

Investigators were able to confirm the bones were human but said it is still very early in the investigation.

Investigators said they will not have an identity any time soon.
