Double shooting in DeKalb: Police investigate phone sale gone wrong

Police in DeKalb County are investigating after two men were shot as one of them attempted to sell a phone. 

It happened in the 2500 block of Bouldercrest Road. According to the DeKalb County Police Department, officers responded around 7:37 p.m. and found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his back. He was rushed to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

At around the same time, police say officers were responding to a gas station in the 3400 block of Flat Shoals Road. According to police, a 27-year-old man was found there with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He also was rushed to an area hospital. 

Investigators say the 21-year-old man told them he was trying to sell a phone. The second man said he was at the location but doesn’t know what led to the shooting. 

It was not immediately clear if police have a suspect in custody or know who was behind the double shooting. 

The names and current conditions of those injured have not been released.
