Douglasville city council approves property tax increase
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - Douglasville residents will see their property taxes go up.
The city council approved the just under 17 percent increase at Thursday night's meeting.
The increase means that on a house assessed at $350,000, homeowners would pay an extra $175, or almost $15 extra a month.
The city cites increased cost of fire service from Douglas County as the main factor for the move.
