East Point Fire station and training facility groundbreaking ceremony
EAST POINT, Ga. - The city of East Point held a groundbreaking ceremony Friday morning for the Chief Rosemary Roberts Cloud Fire Station and Safety Training Facility.
Chief Cloud became the first African-American female Fire Chief in 2002. She went on to serve as East Point's Fire Chief for 12 years, before retiring in 2015.
The new fire station named after Chief Cloud will feature four engine bays within a 12,000 square feet facility. The station will also have manufactured burn facility where local Firefighters can train.
The building is expected to open in 2019.
