Exclusive: Dangerous Robbing Crew on the Loose in Buckhead
ATLANTA - Atlanta police are searching for two men they said tried to rob a woman at gunpoint at a Buckhead apartment complex.
Michelle Deutsch told FOX 5’s Nathalie Pozo she pulled into the parking garage at The Camden at Phipps Apartment Complex Tuesday at around 10 p.m., when two men approached her. Deutsch said one of them had a gun, pushed her to the ground, and demanded everything she had while pointing the gun at her chest.
“I couldn’t give him anything I was scared to death,” said Deutsch. “I was screaming at the top of my lungs.”
Residents said they heard her screaming and called 911. Deutsch said one of the men dropped the gun and panicked. That’s when they took off.
Residents are demanding change after a string of crime at the apartment complex. In June, Atlanta Police said seven apartments within the complex were broken into and thieves made off with jewelry, money, and electronics.
Residents are asking for cameras to be installed, more parking spaces and better security. They also want residents and management to be more vigilant of not allowing people to tailgate other cars while entering the gated community.
