Family members identify man shot, killed in Atlanta

ATLANTA - Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Atlanta. 

Officers were called out to a home in the 1400 block of Mozley Place SW Monday morning. That's where investigators said an adult male was found dead. Family members have identified the victim as 26-year-old Samuel Curtis. 

The victim's sister, Debra Reid, said her brother called her just after 9 a.m. Monday reporting he'd been robbed and asked her to come pick him up. While police haven't released a motive in the case, Reid believes her brother was shot and robbed by someone who lives at the residence.

"He called us before it happened. He reached out to his family. We got here to late, we got here too late," Reid said.

The victim was shot in the chest, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
