Drug deal gone wrong in Buckhead results in deadly shooting

Three people are dead, and one person is in the hospital after what police are calling a drug deal gone wrong inside an apartment building in Buckhead.

Four people were shot at an apartment building in Buckhead Saturday night, three of them fatally, according to Atlanta police.

Officers were called around 6:44 p.m. to the shooting on the 11th floor of 3005 Buckhead along Peachtree Road NE, not far from the shopping district. When the police arrived, they found four men who had been shot. Three of the men were pronounced dead at the scene. The fourth victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

According to APD, the incident began as a drug deal for marijuana which turned into a shootout. Police said the incident was essentially self-contained and that there was no spread out into the larger area, and no victims of stray shots.

Police have not released the identities of the victims.

No word on any arrests.
