Firefighters: 73-year-old woman found dead inside burning duplex

HALL COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Firefighters said a 73-year-old woman was found dead after a fire at a Hall County duplex.

It happened around 4:50 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 100 block of Clarks Bridge Road in North Hall County. Firefighters said the arrived to find a 1,500 square-foot structure with heavy smoke and fire inside the duplex.

Firefighters said they found the body of Janis Gilman while searching inside the home. The cause of her death was not immediately known.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
