ATLANTA, Ga. - Fireworks illuminated the sky over Buckhead during Lenox Square’s 57th year tradition which started when the mall first opened.
“We loved it,” said Terri Weaver who attended the 4th of July celebration. “This is our second or third time to come out and I think it was better this year than last.”
The show included more than 10,000 fireworks weighing more than seven tons. Lenox Square spokesperson Carol Cox said they expected 350,000 people to attend.
The fireworks display is considered one of the largest fireworks displays in the southeast.
“It started with just me, my wife and two boys then everybody caught ear to it we have to get another tent we grew out of this tent,” said Lewis Kimble who has attended for 11 years with his family.
Jennifer Martinez is from El Salvador and said her family comes together every year to celebrate our nations birthday, a place she proudly made home six years ago.
“To enjoy together and have fun,” said Martinez. They are great fireworks. The music, the show, everything is fun.”
The fireworks began at 9:40pm and lasted about 15 minutes.
