SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Several Griffin-Spalding County schools have been cleared after being placed on lockdown after a social media threat.
Officials said it was reported to school administrators Monday morning that a threat was made on social media to Rehoboth Road Middle School, Kennedy Road Middle, Cowan Road Middle, Griffin High School, and Spalding High School.
All five schools were been placed on a "level one" lockdown, which means all entry points at each school have been closed.
School officials said everyone is safe and secure.
These lockdowns come a week after Spalding High School and Rehoboth Middle School were both evacuated after other threats were made to the schools on social media.
Deputies are going to maintain an increased presence at the schools for now following the threats.
