It was a family affair which landed a father, mother, and their 18-year-old son behind bars on numerous felony drug charges in south Forsyth County.

"Our kids grew up together. We've known them for a long time and we didn't see this coming," said Michael Ladd.

He and his wife Linda Ladd told FOX 5 News it was an unexpected shock to learn of their neighbors’ arrests.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday afternoon, the Johns Creek Alpharetta Forsyth Task Force executed a search warrant at the Coleman home on Dartmoor Lane in south Forsyth County.

John Christopher Coleman, 52, his wife Holly Jean Coleman, 50, and their son John Cooper Coleman, 18, were all arrested.

"You know there's been probably some extra traffic down in this area. We're in a cul-de-sac so we saw extra cars coming through," said Linda Ladd.

On Tuesday, extra cars in the area included task force members who according to the sheriff's office found marijuana, cocaine, wax made of THC, the chemical compound in pot responsible for the high, THC liquid cartridges, drug-related objects and more in the home.

"We saw a dog, once we saw the dog coming out of the car, we were like ‘Oh! Oh! That was a canine! A drug-sniffing dog!’ That's what were figured," said Michael Ladd.

On its Facebook page, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office listed numerous marijuana and other charges for each family member,

The sheriff's office also listed charges of possession of cocaine and MDMA also known as ecstasy for Mrs. Coleman. All the charges are felonies.

The Ladds told FOX 5 News Mr. Coleman was a builder who fell on hard times.

"I don't know the whole story in my head I'm just trying to make sense of it," said Michael Ladd.

The sheriff's office said the arrests at the Coleman home followed tips that the younger John Coleman was selling pot at Lambert High School where he’s a student.

Many on Facebook said ‘thank you’ to law enforcement following news of the Coleman families arrest. The Ladds had another sentiment in mind.

"It's a very sad situation, there's children involved, it breaks my heart," said Linda Ladd.

On its Facebook page, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office stated John and Holly Coleman were being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center without bond.

Their son John Coleman Jr. was still behind bars because he had a bond of more than $51,000 which had not been posted.
