Fulton County launches traffic ticket amnesty program
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Drivers are being given an opportunity to clear records in Fulton County.
The county has kicked off its traffic ticket amnesty effort. The program will give amnesty to people who have pending traffic citations from municipalities in Fulton County.
Those who take part could see reduced traffic fines up to 80 percent. Also, the program is primarily for offenses that do not have a victim.
The goal is to help restore driving records.
"In Metropolitan Atlanta, traffic is a problem. So, one of the things we're trying to do is help people to get their matter resolved so that they can get the appropriate licensing to get back on the road. And to do it in a safe way with less hassle than traditional court processes,” Keith Gammage, Fulton County Solicitor General.
The program will run through the end of the year.
