Fulton County officer arrested for smuggling drugs into jail
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Police have arrested a Fulton County detention officer for allegedly smuggling contraband, including illegal drugs, into the Fulton County Jail.
Officials told FOX 5 they arrested Adonis Lovejoy Sunday for the crime.
Lovejoy has been charged with violation of an oath by a public officer, crossing guard lines of jail with prohibited items, and possession of meth.
"The introduction of contraband is not tolerated," a spokesperson for the Fulton County Sheriff said.
The investigation is ongoing.
