ATLANTA - A funeral procession took place for former Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington Friday morning ahead of his funeral in southwest Atlanta.

Chief Pennington served in Atlanta from 2002 to 2010, while Shirley Franklin was mayor.
The funeral was held Friday at Cascade United Methodist Church in southwest Atlanta.
