A Georgia State University police officer was involved in a shooting at the Greyhound Station in downtown Atlanta Monday evening.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the GSU officer was working an off-duty security job at the bus station when a man was reportedly acting erratically outside, "harassing other patrons."

The officer intervened and confronted the man, identified as 38-year-old William Davis.

The GBI said Davis wasn't cooperative and a fight ensued. Then, the officer sprayed Davis with pepper spray, but he continued to fight. That's when the officer fired one shot, striking Davis.

Davis continued to resist additional responding officers and EMS, the GBI said, even after being shot.

The suspect was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he's listed in stable condition.

No officers were hurt during the shooting.

The station, located at 232 Forsyth St SW, was saturated with law enforcement officers following the incident.
