Georgia Aquarium begins expansion construction

ATLANTA - Construction started at the Georgia Aquarium this week.

In the project they're calling Expansion 2020, the main entrance will be extended into the plaza.

They are also adding a new state-of-the-art shark habitat.

The addition to the aquarium will add tens of thousands of square feet to the facility.

Those who still want to visit the aquarium during construction shouldn’t worry.

Developers said the regular entrance will remain open throughout construction which is expected to finish in late 2020.
