Georgia inmate escapes from jail, steals vehicle
LAMAR COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities are searching for an inmate they say broke out of a Lamar County jail and is now on the run.
Police say that Christopher Nicolas Carroll stole a vehicle at about 1:30 am Wednesday morning. The vehicle was found six hours later abandoned in South Carolina's Allendale County. Carroll's location is unknown at this time.
Carroll, who is from South Carolina, was in jail for three counts of obstruction of an officer and theft by receiving stolen property.
Officials describe Carroll as a 5-feet-9-inches tall white man who weighs around 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit.
