Georgia woman gets life for killing North Carolina boyfriend
MARSHALL, N.C. (AP) - A 50-year-old Georgia woman has been sentenced to life in prison for robbing and killing her former boyfriend in the driveway of his home in the North Carolina mountains.
Authorities said a Madison County jury convicted Nancy Hogan of first-degree murder and robbery Thursday.
Investigators say Hogan traveled with her son and his girlfriend from Cornella, Georgia, in July 2015 and attacked 67-year-old Edward Praytor in the driveway of his Sandy Mush home.
Authorities said that Praytor was beaten and stabbed, dying from blows to the head.
Police say Hogan and her son returned to Praytor's home to try to hide evidence in the killing.
Hogan's son Brandon pleaded guilty last year to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 to 30 years in prison.
