Paul Milliken braves Four Scythes Haunted Attraction

Four Scythes Haunted Attraction in Cumming doesn't just serve up the scares for brave visitors, it also raises a lot of money for great causes.

Friday Morning Frights: Cumming’s Four Scythes Haunted Attraction: 

What’s better than visiting a terrifying haunted attraction during the Halloween season? Easy: visiting one that also does a lot of good for the community.

This morning on Good Day Atlanta, we spent a few hours screaming and hiding our eyes inside Four Scythes Haunted Attraction, a walk-through haunted attraction in Cumming. 

This is the sixth season for the nonprofit attraction, which donates proceeds to various organizations in the community. According to organizers, the volunteer-staffed Four Scythes (located in Forsyth County … get it?) has donated more than $200,000 to 30+ local charities thus far in its existence, including the American Cancer Society and Boy Scouts of America.

Four Scythes Haunted Attraction is located at 235 Castleberry Road (at the Cumming Fairgrounds) and is open from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 18 and 19) and next Friday and Saturday (Oct. 25 and 26). Admission is $25 and the ticket booth opens at 6:30 p.m. nightly. For more information about the experience, click here.

Trying The Colonnade's classic burger

The Colonnade is Atlanta's second-oldest restaurant, and customers head in weekly for its classics like Southern friend chicken and salmon croquettes. Burgers with Buck had a different classic on the menu in mind during our visit.

He now has a new cookbook out called ''Love'' and joined Alyse Eady in the Good Day kitchen to talk about his career and make some cinnamon French toast waffles.

'Exhibiting Forgiveness''' story of healing

They say blood is thicker than water, but sometimes family ties are strained and broken and have to be remade in the years to come. That's the subject of Titus Kaphar's debut film, ''Exhibiting Forgiveness,''' and he stopped by Good Day to talk to Alex Whitler about going from painting to the moving image.

Titus Kaphar, producer of "Exhibiting Forgivness": The film stars André Holland, Andra Day, John Earl Jelks, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, John Earl Jelks. Tarrell’s mother, Joyce (Ellis-Taylor) a pious woman with a profound and joyful spirituality, hopes that Tarrell can open his heart to forgiveness for his father, giving them all another chance at being a family. Tarrell and La’Ron learn that forgetting might be a greater challenge than forgiving in this raw and deeply moving film. The film is in theaters now. Watch the trailer here.
