Family calls for capture of murder suspect

The family of a 23-year-old murdered man refuses to give up. They want the man who killed their loved one in front of a southwest Atlanta music studio to be caught.

A metro Atlanta family says holidays will never be the same after one of their loved ones was murdered in front of a music studio in southwest Atlanta.

Police have identified a murder suspect, but the family is frustrated because that suspect has become a fugitive who has been on the run for over a year.

"It is different if he was out there robbing somebody and got killed. But he wasn't bothering anybody," Scott Carter said about his only son, Nicholas.

In fact, Carter's 23-year-old son was not even armed when he was fatally shot in the neck last September as he got out of a car at a music studio on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard.

His father says the Christmas season just does not feel right without his son.

"At 23 years old, he was still a child, just a baby," Carter said.

"It gets rough because I don't see him. It's going to be rough as hell," he revealed, discussing the holidays without his son.

Nicholas' aunt agrees. "Real difficult. It's just not having him with the laughter and playing jokes on everyone. It's not the same and you can tell it's not the same," Catherine Carter said.

The family asks anyone who knows suspect Miquae Dequontist Williams to come forward.

"I wish somebody would see him and turn him in. Because it wasn't right. It's murder, cold-blooded murder," Mr. Carter said.

Nicholas’s cousin says forgiving Williams for the deadly shooting will be a process.

"If you are living your life and enjoying your life, while we have to suffer and struggle because we missed the one person who meant the world to us... then you don't deserve forgiveness," Ashley Jackson said with tears rolling down her face.

Jackson says it is hard to watch her uncle and aunt, and really the entire family suffer.

There is a $2,000 Crime Stoppers reward in this case if you can help lead police to Williams.
