GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Gwinnett County commissioner Tommy Hunter appeared in front of the Gwinnett County Ethics Board on Wednesday in relation to a post made by Hunter on Facebook calling Congressman John Lewis a 'racist pig.'
A decision was not made at Wednesday's hearing, and Hunter refused to answer questions from one of the lawyers who filed the ethics complaint by invoking his rights under the state constitution.
The ethics board deliberated for 45 minutes on Wednesday, and has made a decision on if there will be any disciplinary action against Hunter. The decision will be made public at a later date.
Hunter, who serves as commissioner for Gwinnett County District 3, deleted the post and quickly apologized for the remarks in January.
