Shortly after 7 p.m. on Dec. 21, officers responded to a "person shot" call at a residence on Creeldale Drive. The call, made using a language interpretation service, revealed that a woman had been shot. Emergency responders from the Gwinnett County Fire Department confirmed Hernandez-Rodriguez was deceased upon arrival. Officers secured the scene and initiated an investigation with the assistance of Homicide and Crime Scene Units.

Detectives determined the incident was domestic-related. Hernandez-Rodriguez and Morillo had been living in the same residence despite being divorced. Following the shooting, Morillo, 35, fled the scene in a 2016 black Toyota Corolla. The vehicle is missing a passenger-side hubcap and bears a temporary license plate, S2110371.

Morillo, who remains at large, is described as 4-feet-11 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is wanted on charges of Malice Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.

Detectives continue to interview witnesses who were present during the shooting and are working with the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office to confirm the manner and cause of death.

Anyone with information regarding Morillo’s whereabouts is urged to contact Gwinnett County Police detectives at 770.513.5300 or submit tips anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 404.577.8477 or www.stopcrimeATL.com.
