Gwinnett County Police officer seriously injured in I-85 crash
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A Gwinnett County Police officer and several other drivers were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 85 during the early evening commute Monday.

Gwinnett County Police said one of their officers radioed in around 5:30 p.m. he was injured in a crash along Interstate 85 North about a mile south of Lawrenceville Suwanee Road. Police said the officer was not able to get to the other party because of his injuries. He was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
A second driver, identified only a 33-year-old woman, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Two other drivers, a 21-year-old woman and 31-year-old man, were treated and released at the scene.
Police said a total of four vehicles were involved in the crash.
SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene around 6:30 p.m. and spotted all lanes of traffic were closed. Four lanes of traffic would remain closed for a little under three hours while police investigated and cleaned up the scene. Motorists were asked to use the Pleasant Hill Road exit and find alternative routes during that time.
Police said they are still investigating the cause of the crash.
