Gwinnett County teacher arrested for child molestation
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A former Gwinnett County teacher is being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to school officials.
Michael Appelbaum resigned from the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology on March 18 after an investigation was launched into the allegations. School officials said Appelbaum worked as a band teacher there.
School police said they obtained a warrant on Tuesday for Appelbaum’s arrest. Jail records indicate he was booked in the Gwinnett County Jail on child molestation charges.
Appelbaum had been with the school district since August 2008.
