The video is described as vicious, hard to watch, but authorities in Gwinnett County said it helped to end a disturbing case of elder abuse. Police said the footage shows a caretaker kicking, pushing, and even choking a wheelchair-bound woman.

Gwinnett County Police are crediting a vigilant son who listened to his mother and hid the camera they said helped to uncover the abuse.

“It's very disturbing and very unfortunate that people who are tasked caring with some of the most vulnerable people in our society would use that as an opportunity to take advantage of them and do them harm,” said Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Deon Washington.

Police said Lisa Williams is the caretaker seen in the 5-minute clip yelling at an elderly woman. Investigators said Williams had only been working for Personal Touch in Loganville for three weeks.

“If there are allegations made by your loved ones don't push them off and ignore them, take substantial threats to see what they're saying is actually taking place,” said Cpl. Washington.

Williams is charged with exploitation of a disabled adult aggravated assault by strangulation, but police said more charges could come, if it turns out there are more victims out there.

“I would urge anyone who was under the care of Mrs. Williams to come forward if they feel their loved ones were subjected to this treatment,” said Washington.

Investigators spoke with four other patients who live at the home where the abuse occurred and police said additional charges are possible.
