Heartwarming love letter Ronald Reagan wrote to Nancy in 1960
(STORYFUL) Former US First Lady Nancy Reagan passed away on March 6, and among the many ways people have begun to memorialize her is through sharing recollections of her romance and life with Ronald Reagan.
Among these is a note that the future president wrote to his wife on February 14, 1960. An image of the note was tweeted by Presidential historian Michael Beschloss.
The note reads in part that people “of ordinary luck” call February 14 Valentine’s Day, but “I happen to have a Valentine’s Day which started on March 4, 1952”—the couple’s wedding anniversary—"and will continue as long as I have you." Reagan also wrote, “Will you be my Valentine from now on and for ever and ever?”
