Krispy Kreme location catches fire again

For the second time this year, firefighters were called out to the iconic Krispy Kreme location along Ponce De Leon for a reported fire.

For the second time this year, firefighters have responded to the historic Krispy Kreme location along Ponce De Leon for a fire.

Atlanta firefighters said flames were showing through the roof when they arrived at the location shortly after 4:30 p.m.

Firefighters said they were able to extinguish the fire shortly before 5 p.m.

Firefighters said the fire appears to have started in the kitchen area, but the official cause is still under investigation.

All the utilities had been shut off since the previous fire.

Damage could be seen to the roof.

No injuries were reported.

Ponce De Leon Avenue NE from Penn Avenue NE to Argonne Avenue NE was closed for a brief time to allow room for fire trucks.

The department tweeted photos of firefighters at the scene.

During the early morning hours of February 10, firefighters responded to the same location for a fire. That blaze was later ruled arson.

The franchise location is owned by NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal.
