I-285 WB reopens after sinkhole repairs

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - All lanes of Interstate 285 westbound between Old National Highway and Washington Road have reopened following overnight sinkhole repairs.

Major delays were reported during the morning rush hour Thursday as Georgia Department of Transportation crews worked around the clock to repair a sinkhole in the interstate. 

Drivers were forced to use alternate routes as I-285 remained shut down. 

GDOT crews worked through the night to repair the interstate. All lanes were reported back open just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
