Injured linebacker breathing on his own, upgraded to stable
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - There's some good news for Tennessee State University linebacker and Atlanta native Christion Abercrombie.
Officials say Abercromie is now breathing on his own.
The former Westlake High standout had been in critical condition since suffering a severe head injury during a game on Sept. 29.
An update from TSU said that Abercrombie was able to get off his ventilator on Saturday.

Doctors have upgraded his status to stable.
The linebacker is currently recovering at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
