ATLANTA - Friday marks the beginning of Red Kettle Season in metro Atlanta.
The Salvation Army kicked off this holiday tradition with Red Kettle Fest at Colony Square in Midtown.
The celebration featured music, food trucks, and entertainment.
Organizers said that the Salvation Army has started the Christmas season with red kettles and bell ringers for more than two centuries.
The red kettle season will run through Christmas Eve.
Salvation Army officials said kettles will be at more than 400 locations throughout the metro area.
