ATLANTA - A 7-year-old Pickens County girl will become an Atlanta Hawks cheerleader for a day.
Leslie Barnett suffers from something called Cystic Hygroma, which is a facial tumor. Cystic hygromas are abnormal growths that consist of one or more cysts and tend to grow larger over time. They can occur anywhere in the body.
If Leslie looks familiar, that's because she's a 2016 Bert's Big Adventure kid and has been featured in several stories on FOX 5! Last month, she went on the annual BBA, all-expenses paid trip to Walt Disney World.
On Friday, thanks to Atlanta-based The Bert Show and the Atlanta Hawks, Leslie will become an official Hawks cheerleader. Her special day will kick-off with pre-game preparations, which will include hair and make-up. Leslie will then join the cheerleaders on the court for team introductions.
She'll even get to wear a custom-made Hawks cheerleading uniform! Leslie will enjoy the duration of the game in a suite with her family as the Hawks take on the Milwaukee Bucks at Philips Arena.
