Jenn Hobby's daughter undergoes fourth round of chemotherapy

Longtime Atlanta radio personality Jenn Hobby is asking for prayers as her 1-year-old daughter undergoes her fourth and final round of chemotherapy.

In August, Hobby, a co-host on Star 94.1’s "The Jeff & Jenn Show,” announced her youngest daughter, Reese, had been diagnosed with cancer after doctors discovered a plum-sized, solid mass tumor in her abdomen. Reese immediately started chemotherapy at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

On Facebook Tuesday, Hobby shared three pictures of Reese at the hospital, wearing an "Always Be Brave" shirt.

"I'm asking for an extra prayer for Reese this week as we start round four of chemotherapy," Hobby said. "Thank you for lifting her up!"

Reese has been receiving treatment every three weeks. Once she completes her fourth round of chemo, she'll undergo surgery.

"Surgery would happen near her tailbone," Hobby said on the air early Wednesday morning.

Hobby told listeners the outpouring of support gives her family motivation to stay positive.

"I know it sounds cheesy, but it truly lifts us up," she said. "It's easy to start feeling down, every little message helps."

Throughout Reese's fight against cancer, Hobby said her "lil angel" has kept a smile on her face.

“Our goal has been to keep a smile on her face. She’s 11 months old and if she’s supposed to feel bad because of the chemo, somebody forgot to tell her,” husband Grant Rivera told FOX 5 after round two of chemotherapy and before Reese's first birthday. “She’s got a big smile, runs around, lots of energy. At this point, she’s an 11-month-old and she doesn’t know any different.”

Hobby and Rivera both said as their daughter continues treatment, they are focused on keeping her happy.

Last month, Hobby said on the air she hopes all of the updates about Reese can serve as a reminder for anyone going through a personal challenge or facing something difficult.

Please continue to keep Reese and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
