Karate instructor stops would-be kidnapper
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A would-be kidnapper picked the wrong person to target when he tried and failed, to abduct a North Carolina woman.
Police say August Williams tried to throw a woman into his truck Thursday night, but she wasn't having it.
The woman thought fast, fighting back and then running into the perfect place to protect herself – a karate studio.
And Randall Ephraim and his entire class had been training for exactly this kind of moment.
"He started to swing and punch at me, so we got into a little pushing match," Ephraim said.
Ephraim fought the man off, getting him out of the door and into police custody.
The attacker ended up in a stretcher, as well as the back of a police cruiser.
